This three-part sculpture represents the process of disintegration. Things that we once regarded as permanent change over time as they decay and degrade. What once was whole is hollowed out and takes on new shapes as it ages. Nature at work. The three parts can be arranged in many ways to be viewed from multiple viewpoints. The work was created from an original clay sculpture of a male torso, from which a mould was made so that the three stages of disintegration of the body could be formed using hydrocal, a strong gypsum-based plaster. Then the pieces were painted with iron and bronze paints and patina was applied to create the rusting and patination.
